My Nurture Wellness Village Getaway in Silang, CaviteWith just a few weeks of prior planning, it was easy to create a weekend getaway that combined communing with nature, learning about health and wellness, and nourishing and detoxifying the body through food and pampering at Nurture Wellness Village with a side trip to Gourmet Farms, Inc. and Ilog Maria Honeybee Farm.I only really sought a relaxing escape from the hurried city life, and the 2 brief days I spent at Silang, Cavite, or Tagaytay, managed to bring me that, and a lot more learning and new experiences than I had anticipated.I made arrangements to stay at Nurture Wellness Village, and while I’m not normally one to go on spa treatments and such, I looked forward to a couple of days of detoxification for my body, spirit, good vibes, and hopefully, great skin. ;) But Silang has a lot to offer, so I decided to start the day early and catch the sunrise over the ridge.[[MORE]]And since Gourmet Farms and the Ilog Maria Bee Farm were just a few minutes away from Nurture, I opted to visit these places to check out the rows of fresh produce, and stock up on some personal care products from each of these places respectively.* Gourmet Farms offers free tours of their farm by appointment, or if you catch a group tour at 10AM. Best to get in touch with them beforehand if you would like to make special arrangements, or if you’d like to be taken around by a resident agriculturist / chef.As noon approached, it would almost be time to check in to Nurture Wellness Village. They truly live up to their name in terms of their customer service, and make sure to make you feel right at home, welcoming you with any one of their freshly brewed teas (my favorite is their lemongrass tea, both hot and iced), and warmly greeting you with genuinely warm smiles and hellos. The entire property is teeming with greenery and vibrant energy that gives you the sense that the people that bring life to the space really care about nurturing you and their surroundings. And was tastefully embellished with a lot of Filipino touches like the traditional glass that accented big doors, capiz lamps and other decor.I was then escorted to what would be my glorious home that night, one of their Ifugao Suites, which again incorporated a lot of nice Filipino touches. While staying at Nurture, you can treat yourself to a number of spa treatments or food offerings for better health and wellness, to help alleviate you of certain bodily discomfort or simply to revitalize yourself. And more than just serving you food, Nurture also offers the Nurture Walk to their organic farm where you can learn even more about some of the fresh produce they serve (which you can pick yourself), and the powerful health benefits of plants.Suffice it to say, I left feeling renewed after being surrounded by nature, warm hospitality, and going through different forms of therapy they had to offer, from from detoxifying charcoal wraps and enemas, a full body massage, and a body scan and assessment, among others. What made the experience so much richer for me was also hearing the stories of how some of the staff’s perceptions of health and wellness had changed due to their engagement with Nurture. One particularly memorable conversation was one I had with the resident tai chi instructor and acupuncturist Querobe, who shared how we really made it a point to introduce more vegetables, and even brown rice to his family because of the things he learned and got exposed to while working at Nurture. And I felt that was a great testament to the brand, one arguably more compelling than any guest review you might find online.* View more pictures from my trip here.Nurture Wellness Villagewww.nurturewellnessvillage.cominfo@nurture.com.phPulong Sagingan, Barangay Maitim II West Cavite, Tagaytay, Luzon 4120, Philippines+63 917 687 8873 / +63 918 888 8772
